Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pivasta 1 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Pivasta 1 Tablet is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Pivasta 1 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Pivasta 1 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Pivasta 1 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Pivasta 1 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Pivasta 1 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Pivasta 1 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pivasta 1 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Pivasta 1 Tablet is not recommended in patients with active liver disease and severe liver disease.
